CONNOLLY FESTIVAL 2007

CONNOLLY FESTIVAL 2007   23rd/24th March 2007   (Venue: ATGWU Hall, Middle Abbey St.Dublin.)


Bob Doyle - the last surviving Irish Veteran of the Spanish Civil War who fought for democracy and against Facism will be speaking on Friday March 23rd at 7.00.p.m.
 
He is the headline speaker in this years festival which features a number of speakers including:

The Cuban Ambassador, Noel Carrillio - on the U.S. Blockade of Cuba.  Friday 23rd March at 5.30.p.m.

Cllr. Declan Bree - on Campaigning for Travellers Rights.  Saturday 24th March at 10.00 a.m.

Larry Wheelock - brother of Terrence Wheelock who died as a result of injuries received in Garda Custody.  Saturday 24th March at 11.30.a.m.

At 2.00.p.m. on Saturday afternoon there is an Anti War demonstration outside the Fianna Fail Ard Fheis at City West, Dublin, and at 8.00.p.m. the Connolly Festival Social is taking place in:- Outhouse, 105, Capel Street.

Peace Campaigner to Address Sligo Meeting

The Irish peace campaigner Caoimhe Butterly, will speak at a Public Meeting in the Glasshouse Hotel, Sligo, on Wednesday night the 14th March at 8.30.p.m

Sligo’s former Mayor, Cllr Declan Bree, will preside at the meeting which is being held under the auspices of the Connolly Forum and the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign.

The meeting will give members of the public an opportunity to hear first hand accounts of the situations in Iraq, Palestine and in Lebanon.
